At the start of pre-orders on 25 June 2026 Rockstar presented two editions. The difference is not in the game itself but in additional content. Here is the comparison at a glance, with the points that are still open.
Prices
The Standard Edition costs €79.99, the Ultimate Edition €99.99. The difference is therefore €20.
What both have
Both editions contain the full game. Anyone who pre-orders gets the Vice City Pack in both cases.
What only the Ultimate Edition offers
According to the list at mein-mmo.de these are:
- additional vehicles, including a classic car, a motorcycle, a kayak, a watercraft and a buggy
- two additional weapons and engravings for Jason's and Lucia's weapons
- Vice City style outfits and tattoos for both lead characters
- special tuning for one of Jason's vehicles plus additional workshops
- further shops, including a barber, a tattoo studio and a clothing collection
- special missions with a mechanic in which classic cars are collected and repaired, plus a gang hideout with special items
Open: What is not yet clear
It is not confirmed whether the Standard Edition receives cosmetic options and whether the Ultimate shops stay exclusive to Ultimate buyers. We will update the article as soon as Rockstar clarifies.
The numbers at a glance
| Standard Edition | Ultimate Edition | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | €79.99 | €99.99 |
| Full game | yes | yes |
| Vice City Pack on pre-order | yes | yes |
| Additional vehicles, weapons, outfits, tuning, shops, special missions | no | yes |
Which edition suits whom?
If you mainly want to play the story, the Standard Edition is enough. If you care about vehicles, clothing and tuning, the Ultimate Edition offers more choice. Whether the extra cost is worth it depends on how much these extras matter to you.
What to check before buying
First, check whether the Ultimate Edition extras matter to you: vehicles, weapons with engravings, outfits and tattoos, tuning, additional shops and the special missions with the mechanic. Second, make sure you buy from an official retailer. Third: both editions contain the full game and, on pre-order, the Vice City Pack, so you do not miss story content in the Standard Edition. The €20 difference is therefore a decision about extra content, not about the scope of the game.
Our take
The €20 premium mainly buys choice and looks, not more game. The list does, however, include the special missions and the gang hideout, which go beyond pure cosmetics. How large this part is in everyday play is not known. If you are unsure you can postpone the decision until release, as long as it is clear that preload is possible from 12 November.
Important note on availability
Rockstar has confirmed that the physical version has no disc at launch but a download code in the box. Buy only from official retailers.

Why we do not recommend an edition across the board
We deliberately give no blanket buying recommendation. The prices and the content of the Ultimate Edition are documented, but whether it is useful depends on how you play. Anyone who likes collecting vehicles, tuning them or dressing their characters benefits more than someone who mainly follows the story. Two points are also still open: whether the Standard Edition receives cosmetic options and whether the Ultimate shops stay exclusive. Once Rockstar clarifies this, we will adjust this comparison and note the date of the change.
