// Extended Look
On August 27, 2026 Rockstar released the „Extended Look“: roughly 26 minutes of gameplay captured on PlayStation 5, first on Netflix and now on YouTube as well.
What was shown
Third-person gunfights remain a core part of the game.
Vehicle pursuits and getaways were shown at length, including police behaviour inside the city.
The wanted system appeared in the footage; the exact escalation logic is still interpretation.
Seamless drives between city, coast and backcountry with no visible loading break.
Planes, helicopters, boats and airboats as well as dirt bikes and quads appear in the footage and are likely drivable.
Lighting, animation and environments look far more detailed than GTA 5 — the engine appears heavily reworked.
In-game platforms reminiscent of TikTok and YouTube clearly play a role.
Holding up shops is part of the game again.
Tuning meets, drift and street races are hinted at, but Rockstar has not named rules or scope.
Side note
Trailer 1 visibly played with internet memes such as „Florida Man“ and „Karen“. Alligators even take over the city in it.
