In an interview with Love magazine, Rockstar North head Rob Nelson provided insights into how Grand Theft Auto VI is being produced. Nelson highlighted that a major factor in the series' development is a core team of veterans who have worked alongside each other for years. The creation process begins by building basic assets and underlying systems before roughly placing content across every area of development. According to Nelson, GTA 6 is structured around recurring eight-week milestones where specific portions of the game are assembled and tested together. Following each evaluation, the team integrates feedback and makes steady course corrections as they work toward achieving the intended feel of the final game.
