   Laut einem Bericht von GameSpot hat Rockstar-Entwicklungschef Rob Nelson in einer 30-minütigen Gameplay-Demo neue Gameplay-Elemente zu Grand Theft Auto VI vorgestellt. Beim Abbau des Fahndungslevels im Bundesstaat Leonida sollen Protagonisten Jason und Lucia demnach deutlich mehr Möglichkeiten haben, als lediglich einen roten Bereich auf der Karte zu verlassen. Zu Beginn der Vorführung zeigte das Studio ein Versteck der beiden Hauptfiguren, in welchem Spieler Charaktere wechseln, Anpassungen an der Einrichtung vornehmen und eigene Aktionen ausführen können. Rockstar betonte dabei ausdrücklich, dass das Gebäude nicht den beiden Protagonisten gehört, sondern sie sich im Haus einer anderen Person aufhalten. Darüber hinaus demonstrierte Nelson ein weiterentwickeltes NPC-Interaktionssystem basierend auf Red Dead Redemption 2, das tiefergehende Reaktionen von Passanten wie etwa beim längeren Belauschen von Gesprächen ermöglicht.

The preview opened inside a safehouse where players can swap between characters, perform unique interactions, and decorate the interior space. Rockstar pointed out that this particular safehouse does not belong to the protagonists, noting that they are staying in another person's home. Additionally, the presentation highlighted an expanded NPC interaction system built upon Red Dead Redemption 2, allowing for more nuanced reactions such as pedestrians noticing when players eavesdrop on their conversations.
